Arthur M. Okun (1928-1980) was an economist widely known for his formulation Okun's Law, which provides the mathematical relationship between the rate of unemployment and the gross national product. Hugh Gardner Ackley (1915-1998) worked for the Office of Price Administration in Washington, D.C. from 1941 to 1943 and 1944 to 1946, and he worked for the Office of Strategic Services from 1943 to 1944.
